Typography 2: Project 1
This is a spread from a book I made from a research paper about the typeface Clearview, which is being designed to replace the Highway Gothic font family on road signs across America.
It was a really cool project, and as I’d mentioned earlier, I got to work with the actual typographer behind the project, James Montalbano… He graciously licensed me the font for free, a $1000+ value! So cool. Full text of the book is available upon request. Pictures of the completed book forthcoming!

Chris Goes to College (Art Center First Impressions)
So after much delay due to the La Cañada fires, I began my “Art Center Journey” on Thursday, September 3. Orientation would last for the entire day on Thursday and spill into Friday.
All I can say is, it’s about time. Honestly, I could have predicted this, but I have never before so felt like I belonged. I fill with immense confidence just stepping onto campus, and I feel like I’m a part of something huge. My peers so far are really friendly, and above all, supremely (often intimidatingly!) talented…
The hilight thus far has surely been my departmental orientation, and getting better acquainted with the 14 other Advertising Design majors in my class. Alena, our department chair, is extremely enthusiastic, and wholly committed to, in her words, delivering us into the ad world supported by a “world class education.”
It will be hard work, but I really feel Art Center will take me to the next level.
Classes start Tuesday.
Communication Design 1, Typography 2, Design 1, and the History of Advertising… Can I get a “hell yeah!” ??
